Project: To Conduct and Provide ToT to Strengthen Capacity of Instructors of TTC on Skills Training for Potential Migrant Domestic Workers

This project was implemented during May 2016-January 2017 with financial support of ILO, Dhaka. A course outline and contents of the Training of Trainers (ToT) for a 3-days training program for the domestic migrant workers in both English and Bangla was prepared.


Subsequently, 3-days training programmes for 63 TTC Instructors of 14 TTCs in 3 batches at Dhaka were conducted.


Objectives were:

  • To develop a content/guideline for Training of Trainers (ToT) for 3 day training based on developed module of BMET in accordance with ILO’s suggestions relating to welfare and rights of female migrant workers; and
  • To provide training to the instructors of TTCs to strengthen their capacity on skills development training for potential migrant domestic workers and to have better understanding on the BMET developed Module for domestic work (housekeeping).


Activities undertaken:


Development of course outline and contents of the Training of Trainers (ToT)

A course outline and contents of the ToT were developed for a 3-day training program in line with the BMET approved training modules on housekeeping for the domestic migrant workers and in accordance with suggestions of ILO in both English and Bangla.


Given below the course outline and contents:  

Module 1: Introduction

Module 2: Conceptual clarity of migration and migrant domestic workers.

Module 3: Prerequisites for female migrant domestic workers.

Module 4: Migration process.

Module 5: Rights and Protection of female migrant domestic workers.


Organized and Conducted 3-day ToT for TTC Instructors

Three-day training programmes were conducted for 63 TTC Instructors of 14 TTCs in 3 batches in Dhaka at CWCS Seminar Room. The training programmes were organized in coordination with BMET, TTC and ILO. About 63 TTC Instructors, 27 guests and resource persons attended these training.
