About CWCS CWCS

Centre for Women and Children Studies (CWCS) is a women and child rights organization for encouraging, sponsoring and promoting multidisciplinary basic and action research aimed at burgeoning socio-economic development of women, men and children. The Centre was established in April 1994 to primarily act as a pressure group to lobby with the policy planners and decision-makers.

What Have We Achieved

Psychosocial Counselling and Reintegration of Survivors

1,618 survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation were provided psychosocial counselling and they were reintegrated with their families in Satkhira district.

Psychosocial Counselling Support to family members

1,381 family members of 635 families of survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation received psychosocial counselling support in Satkhira district.

Healthcare Support to women headed families

1,200 vulnerable women headed families affected by floods in Satkhira district were provided healthcare support.

Shelter and Healthcare Support to survivors

1,008 women and child survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation were provided shelter and healthcare support.

Psychosocial Counselling Support to survivors

573  returnee women migrant workers received individual psychosocial counselling support in Nawabganj and Keraniganj upazilas of Dhaka district.  

Job Placement

468 survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation were placed in the garment industries at Dhaka.

Healthcare and Psycho-social Counselling

374 Returnee women migrants were provided psycho-social support packages namely healthcare and psycho-social counselling, 53 received family counselling and 28 groups received group counselling.

Income Generating Activities

360 women survivors of trafficking were provided livestock training in goat and duck rearing and were given goats and ducks for their income generating activities.

Wage & Self Employment

312 survivors of trafficking of sexual exploitation were provided wage employment and 185 survivors were self-employed. 

Entrepreneurship Business Training

180 returnee women migrants were provided training in business entrepreneurship and cash initiatives.

Training on Tailoring

50 women survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation were given training on tailoring and provided sewing machines.

Women Economic Empowerment

36 Returnee women migrants were economically reintegrated through Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) by doing diversity of livelihood activities.
